Open House & registration day for all incoming Kindergarten students

We are beginning to plan the 2010-2011 school year, and an important part of our plans includes welcoming the incoming Kindergarteners!  There are a couple of important dates for you to mark on your calendars.  On Sunday, January 31, we will have an Open House & registration day for all incoming Kindergarten students.  This is in conjunction with our annual Pancake & Sausage Breakfast and kick-off of Catholic Schools Week. Bring your little one by to meet Miss Keane and visit the Kindergarten classroom anytime after the 8:30 or 10:30 Masses, then head to the gym for some breakfast! Kindergarten registration packets will be available at this time and you will have the opportunity to schedule a Kindergarten screening.

We hope your child can join us again on Thursday, February 4 th when the students of St. Joseph School have “Leap Day”. Students in grades K-8 will leap forward to the next grade from 9:00-10:30 a.m. During this time, parents or grandparents are invited to bring their pre-K children in to spend the morning experiencing what Kindergarten life is like at St. Joe’s. Please invite anyone you know who has a child that will be 5 years old before September 1, 2010 (pre-school friends, extended family members, etc). Invite them to come & see what a wonderful school we have here on the Northend!

St. Joseph School is also exploring the possibility of adding a pre-school program for Fall 2010. The pre-school program would have open enrollment for children ages 3-5 years old, including a pre-K program for children who are 5 years old after September 1 and therefore not eligible for Kindergarten. There would be half-day and full-day options for enrollment. At this point we are trying to gauge the interest of families so we can begin the planning process.
